Dr. Monica Pourrat
Recognized as a Top Pediatrician in the Rockville area, Dr. Monica Pourrat was born in Santiago, Chile. She earned her medical degree with honors from the Catholic University of Chile. Before moving to the United States, she gained four years of valuable experience in primary care and pediatrics in her hometown.
Dr. Pourrat completed her Pediatrics residency at the Children’s National Medical Center/Howard University Hospital program in Washington, D.C., graduating in 2004. She then pursued a fellowship in General Academic Pediatrics and Pediatric Environmental Health at Children’s National. She completed it in 2006 alongside a Master’s in Public Health from George Washington University, graduating with honors.
Dr. Pourrat has dedicated many years to serving the predominantly Spanish-speaking community at the Children’s Health Center-Adams Morgan under Children’s National. She is a general pediatrician specializing in primary care, behavioral and developmental services, nutrition, and obesity management.
Board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, Dr. Pourrat also holds certifications in Functional Medicine and Clinical Homeopathy from CEDH. She is an active member of the Obesity Medicine Association and has a passion for medical education, serving as an assistant professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine. Her dedication to teaching has earned her recognition from the GWU Department of Physician Assistant Studies for excellence in education.
Dr. Pourrat enjoys painting, gardening, exploring natural healing with herbs, and creating natural beauty products in her free time. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, she is committed to providing personalized, compassionate care to her diverse community.
